Andreas Hübner aka "Hüby"

 

My name is Andreas Hübner better know under my nickname "Huby" and I was born in Cologne, Germany in 1962

Since the school was crystallized my artistic inclination towards drawing, crafts and craftsmanship, but my concern does not cease to explore and learn new things. After getting my degree in Dental Prosthetics, I started my first artistic steps creating unique pieces of jewelry, in addition to decorating vehicles, jackets sane, and a long ect. commissioned by my friends and colleagues.

 

I grew up in an era of radical change where urban tribes and phenomena like Rock'n Roll, bikers and cinema had a huge cultural impact. I was immersed in all this movement and this virus that was reflected in my idols called tattoo infected me to the core.

My first contact with body art was still a kid through the decals (very fashionable then) at 18 I set out on the hands of a professional for my first indelible mark, what struck me so much, which I confirm my passion for this art, linked to my life by the aesthetics that I produced to admire to this day. Allowing me to transmit this feelings to others / as thanks to my work as Tattooists, which started in 1995 in Granada as one of the pioneers in Andalucía (it was still a very taboo topic).

 

My desire to extend my knowledge did not end there and have led me to explore other paths such as DJ (30 years ago), musician and composer besides soundman. So contact with a lot of musicians, creating with my two friends hobby like collecting records and independent music, the label "Screaming Apple Records" and working in the colony club "Underground".

To emigrate to Granada in 90ta, pushed by my travels, accustomed since childhood, throughout Europe, Kenya and the Comoros, my adventure was fed by the desire to devote only to my creative ideas. Activities fanned themselves from a radio program (The Creatures attack) to a concert hall (Gravestone) going on a Fanzine (Brain Fuzz) and collaborator of the Granada Tattoo Fanzine (TATTOO NEWS) and Organizer on several occasions of the Granada Tattoo Party and many other things.

Although I have left many things behind I'm combining some with my principal amusement, tattoo ... which I work for a non-commercial way as they do in most studies. The reason is that I want to devote more attention to people who have relied at my more than 20 years and not be a supermarket tattoo. Really as the parents did tattoo in the beginning, their contact with the person, their ideas, tastes, feelings, sex ...

Besides that, I need to know why (the tattoo) to capture the idea in a previous talk to the design. On this basis I am looking for a meaning and not just aesthetics to define the line of work required.

The influences that have inspired me forever in life are history, mythology, tribal magic and ethnic cultures in general and of course the music, without it did not work, I need to project my thoughts and positive energy influences the end result of each work.

 

Finally a little about the recognition of my work: Recipient of various awards for best tattoo convention Valencia (2nd best prize of the day), in the 3 parties Tattoo Granada (1st or 2nd prize for best tribal, gray and free theme in each of the events), also on several occasions interviewed by the press and work done which have been published in: Ideal; Under Rope; TattooArte; Tattoo Life; Tattoo; The World .... and on several occasions Television channels: Antena 3; South Canal; Channel 21; Telenieve; Tv Motril; Tele Ideal; Radio Albolote; Onda Cero; Radio Contadero; MTV Norway among others. Also Member of the Advisory Commission on the proposed regulatory law for health policy of the centers of tattoo and piercing of the Ministry of Health of the Government of Andalusia.

But most important for me are the people who have trusted me and came from all over the world to carry my works on your skin.
